what are Discount Codes and how to use them?

Discount Codes allow everyone to market their shop like a pro and offer various discounts to increase customer loyalty and create campaigns. Discounts apply to item price only and won’t affect the shipping cost.

How can my shop benefit from offering Discount Codes?

  • Create seasonal campaigns or flash sales - give your sales an extra boost by creating a “summer-end clearance” or a “flash sale” for a limited amount of time only. Sometimes all that’s separating you from a successful sale is a small discount :)

  • Build a list of loyal customers - what better way to thank someone for their order than sending them a discount code for their next purchase? This shows that the customer is being valued and more than welcome to return.

  • Offer discount to bundle orders - have someone who considers purchasing multiple items from your shop? Help them decide by giving out a code that can be applied to the second or third item after having purchased the first item in the full amount.

    _____💡Important tip! _____

If you’re enabling a code in your shop then it’s important to let shop visitors know about it!

✓ Add the Discount Code in your shop & product description
✓ Shout out that bundle order discounts are available upon request
✓ Share your Discount Codes in your social media channels to get the maximum impact

How to create a Discount Code?

  1. Choose “My shop” from the burger menu on the left

  2. Select the “Discount codes” tab

  3. Click “Create a new discount code”

  4. Create a name for the code and choose whether you want it to give a discount % or fixed sum in R.

  5. Click “Save the discount code” and make sure the Status is activated. Once you no longer want it to be active, just switch the button to the left.

Important to know:

  • Codes are case sensitive

  • Discount is applied to the item price. Buyer Protection fee will be then calculated based on the new (lower) total price

  • Once you have created a code, it cannot be deleted, and each code name has to be unique (within your shop)

  • The same code can be used indefinitely by just changing the status to active or inactive
