Safety and privacy
Keep transactions and conversations on Yaga
For your safety, always conduct all transactions and conversations within the Yaga platform. If you take things outside Yaga, you risk losing money or getting an item that isn’t as described. Furthermore, Yaga’s policies won’t apply, and we won’t be able to assist you in case of issues. Keep it safe, keep it on Yaga!
Protect your personal information
When communicating with other members via Yaga chat, avoid sharing private information such as your full name, email address, telephone number, or bank details. You don’t need to provide this information to buy or sell items on Yaga. The only exception is when returning an item, where the Seller shares delivery info with the Buyer via Yaga messages.
Stay safe when meeting up to collect an item
If you're meeting someone to collect an item, we recommend choosing a public location to keep yourself safe.
You’re in control of your privacy
If you're asked to share photos of yourself wearing an item and feel uncomfortable, you’re under no obligation to do so. To protect your privacy, we also recommend avoiding photos that show your face when sharing images on Yaga.
Report suspicious activity
Watch out for QR codes, suspicious links, questionable listings, usernames, shop descriptions, or unusual requests.
There is no need to provide credit card details or keep money in your account to sell items. Selling on Yaga is free, and you’ll receive your funds directly into your Yaga wallet.
Never copy or enter suspicious links into your browser. Yaga does not have an account verification process. If anyone claims your account is “not verified” and asks you to verify it, this is incorrect.
Report these requests immediately by clicking on the three dots on the user’s profile and selecting "Report." We will investigate and take appropriate measures. If something feels off, it’s better to be safe!
Respect and kindness
Foster a friendly community
We want Yaga to be a safe and welcoming community for everyone. Any form of intimidation, harassment, or hate speech will not be tolerated. This includes promoting sexually explicit material or engaging in violence and discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age. Treat the community with respect, and keep conversations focused on the transaction at hand. This applies to listings, profile descriptions, direct messages, and any other part of the app.
Be patient and polite
People may not always be able to respond to you or ship items right away, so please be patient as they’re a person just like you. Sellers are expected to ship items as soon as possible, preferably within 7 calendar days. Buyers have 48 hours after collecting the parcel to inspect the item and finalise the order. Pressuring others for quick replies, deliveries or completions goes against our community values.
Communicate honestly
When you connect with other Yaga members, always aim for clear and respectful communication. Spreading false or misleading information, creating fear or confusion, publishing someone else’s personal data, or violating their privacy in any way is not allowed.
Honesty and authenticity
Describe items accurately
When listing items, be honest and accurate. Use your own photos—do not copy images from the internet or use someone else's images without permission, as this violates copyright laws and can lead to misunderstandings. Accurate representation helps avoid returns and disputes, ensuring a smoother experience for both, Buyers and Sellers.
Zero tolerance for counterfeits
We have a zero-tolerance approach towards counterfeit items, replicas, or imitations. Please only list items that you’re absolutely sure are genuine. For luxury items, make sure to have proof of authenticity available, and be ready to provide additional proof if requested. Selling fake items can have serious consequences for you, including possible legal action, so it's important to follow these guidelines. By doing so, you're helping to maintain trust and safety within our community.
Prohibited items
Ensure that all your items meet Yaga’s policies. If you're unsure whether your item can be sold, contact us first. Prohibited items and/or Sellers selling prohibited items may be removed without prior notice.
By participating in our community, you agree to follow these rules. Please note that if we observe any violations of our Terms, it may lead to account restrictions, and your entire Yaga account could be permanently removed. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping Yaga a safe and enjoyable space for everyone.
