step-by-step shopping guide

Found something you just have to have? We've created this step-by-step guide to help you through the purchase process.

1. You can purchase everything by clicking "Buy"

If you see the "Buy" button next to the item, then this means that the item is in stock and available for purchase. If there's something you'd like to specify with the Seller first, hit "Send a message" (next to the item) to contact the Seller via Yaga chat; if not, just click “Buy”.

 
 

Alternatively, you can also place an offer on the item you’re interested in purchasing. Our offers system allows asking for up to 30% off the original price, and the Seller can either accept, decline or place a counter offer. Once the agreement has been reached, the new price will be automatically displayed for the user making the offer. Read more here.

2. Choose a delivery method and fill out the necessary information to receive your purchase.

The delivery cost will be paid extra at checkout and each shop owner can choose which delivery options they would like to enable - so you might see Paxi Pep store-to-store, Aramex Store-to-door courier, Pick up from Seller and Bundle options.

  • PAXI Pep store-to-store - Find the nearest Pep store to you from the integrated map and choose this as the pick-up point for your purchase.

  • Aramex Store-to-Door - This option allows to receive the item via Aramex courier to your doorstep. The Seller will ship the item using a prepaid Aramex sleeve.

  • PUDO Locker-to-Locker - Locker-to-locker courier service anywhere in South Africa. Pudo lockers are accessible 24/7.

  • PostNet to PostNet - Courier service anywhere in South Africa. Drop off the item at the nearest PostNet counter and the Buyer will collect the item from the pick-up point of their choice. Your parcel will be delivered within 2-4 working days.

  • DPD D2D - Door to door courier service anywhere in South Africa. With DPD door-to-door delivery there are no parcel size limits, however the maximum weight shouldn’t exceed 10 kg.

  • Pick Up from Seller (R0.00) - This is a free delivery option that requires actually meeting up with the Seller. Before choosing this option please make sure that you’re aware of the Seller’s location so that you’re within each other’s reach. Please note that we don’t encourage using this option for safety and health reasons during the time of the pandemic!

  • Bundling (R0.00) - This option is automatically activated after the first purchase from a shop and allows making additional purchases from the same shop without an extra shipping cost for one hour after the first purchase. Learn more how Bundling works here.

 
 

3. Choose a payment method

You can pay using your credit card, EFT, Ozow, your Yaga wallet or in instalments with Mobicred.

After the payment, the money will be deposited to Yaga's account and transferred to the Seller only after you've confirmed receiving the item on Yaga (by clicking "Item received" in Orders view). This is how Yaga protects our buyers from getting scammed.

🔒 Please note! All purchases made through the Yaga platform are covered with our Buyer Protection. If you make the payment outside Yaga (e.g. transaction to the Seller’s bank account directly) then you can’t be protected by us.

4. After a successful payment you will receive a confirmation e-mail and the purchase can be found under "My purchases" on the left menu bar. Please allow the Seller a few days to send out the Order, but if you get any questions then don't hesitate to contact the Seller via Yaga chat or contact our support using the Chat widget on site or support@yaga.co.za. Once the Seller has shipped out the item you'll receive a notification about it on Yaga and to your e-mail - so please check if your e-mail is correct (under "Profile" from the menu bar).

5. Once you've received your item don't forget to click "Item received" (under "My purchases”) on Yaga to let the Seller know that you've got the item and we could transfer the money to their account.
